Don’t be alarmed, but Tomb Raider and SimCity just came out, EA screwed up with their customers, and the Immortal Machines crew is talking about computer games. Take a deep breath; we’ll sort out this strange new world somehow.

In addition to those shocking headlines, we also try to decide how to feel about Assassin’s Creed 3: Assassin’s Creed 4, and give the Dead Space series a suspicious look. And if you need a new way to make yourself feel bad, Eric has the game for you.

[Episode 63] 2013 – Year in Preview

We have divested ourselves of 2012, and we’re ready for 2013 to take us on the ride all over again.

The crew weighs in about the games we’ll be watching to make a big splash, like Bioshock Infinite, as well as some titles we kind of hope will just blow over, such as The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct. And there are a heap of others, including some you might not yet know you can’t wait to play. What does that sentence mean? Listen and find out!

And if there wasn’t enough to fancy and fear this year, we also throw the bones about Gabe Newell’s words on the future of Steam, found in this article from Gamasutra.

[Episode 62] The 2012 IMmies

A lot of PC games came out in 2012.

A lot of really good PC games came out in 2012.

We did not talk about all of them. But wow, we talked about a bunch.

Unfortunately our recording encountered some technical difficulties for this episode, but Clayton has done his damnedest to make sure they don’t impact your listening enjoyment. Settle in for another long one, folks.

What were your favorite PC games last year? Did we agree?

Come find out! It’s The 2012 IMmies!

Hosted by Eric [Ravenlock]
Participants are James [Vigil80] and Robert [Trebor], with voting contributions from the whole IM crew.
Produced by Clayton [Voodoo]

I promised to drop a few links on you, so here they are:
The Westeros Mod for Crusader Kings II.
A Virus Named Tom.
Frog Fractions. If you haven’t played Frog Fractions… go. Just go play it. We’ll wait right here.

[Episode 61] IMpocalypse

We’re as surprised as anyone, but it appears that the world has survived to see 2012 end and 2013 begin. What were the odds, right? It was a close thing there for awhile. (I’m assuming The Doctor saved us.)

I’m glad it turned out this way, though, because we asked you guys to help us craft our end-of-the-year episode, and you delivered! Thorough discussions of your topic proposals lie within. I will warn you, we were… long-winded, at points. I do hope you enjoy that sort of thing.

We spent a little bit of time talking about Minecraft in there, and some of the crazy stuff people are making with it these days, and I promised to drop this link in the shownotes. Which I have now done.

The 2012 IMmies are right around the corner, and it’s gonna be a doozie, because a lot of great PC games came out this year. Seriously. A lot.

In the meantime, though… it’s the IMpocalypse!
